I have been employed in the Medical Device Reprocessing Department at the Nova Scotia Health Authority at the HI Site since 2000. During my employment I have performed several roles; I was the Resource person for MDR for the last 6 years and in that capacity worked very closely with the Nursing Units and Clinics. Being a Resource for MDR led to a responsibility in training all new staff that started as Technicians in the department. I was the dedicated day shift Charge Person – and as such dealt with the day to day operations of our Unit. I also took on the role of MDR Team Leader, being a liaison between OR and MDR. In the past I held the role of President of our MDR Education Committee where we raise funds to help staff complete MDR education related courses and send Staff to conferences. Some of my responsibilities were similar to the role of Treasurer where I collected and deposited in a chartered bank. I was a signing officer and maintained an up-to-date statement of all receipts and expenditures.
I live in Halifax with my husband. I have 2 children a son starting high school and an adorable one and half year old daughter that keeps me on my toes. I enjoy camping and spending time with my beautiful family.
