I began my career in Sterile Processing in 1994, at the Old Halifax Infirmary. That same year I completed my CSR Tech course through Purdue University and in 2008 completed a course in “Leadership Strategies For Healthcare Facilities” also through Purdue University. At the closing of the Old Halifax Infirmary I was moved to the Victoria General Hospital where I worked in SPD until 2000. From there I took on the role as a Technical Supervisor at the New Halifax Infirmary where I stayed until 2007. From the New Halifax Infirmary I moved across the water to the Dartmouth General where I was Supervisor for CSR at Dartmouth General, Hants Community Hospital as well as overseen the reprocessing of items and equipment from the Nova Scotia Hospital, Cobequid Community Health, Musquodobit Valley Memorial Hospital and the Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital. In 2018 I moved to Manager of MDR for the Western Zone.
I held a term as President of the CSANS for two years and have been involved with the CDHA Accreditation process as a Team Lead Dartmouth General Sterile Processing. I have been a volunteer Fire Fighter for the last fifteen years and hold a Medical First Responder Certification. I coach hockey and baseball and enjoy the rigors of being on the go with my wife and four kids.
