Debbie Church

I hold over 27 years’ experience in the Medical Device Reprocessing field. Starting out as a technician I continued to become the MDR Resource/Trainer, then Lead Hand (Charge Person). Wrote my CMDRT and have been the MDR Staff Developer for over 10 years. I moved to IWK in 2018 as the MDR Supervisor, and currently the MDR Manager at IWK Health Centre

 I am also a member on the Provincial Policy and Procedure Committee, as well as one of the lead on the Standard Operating Procedure working group for the Province. I have extensive knowledge with CSA (Canadian Standards Association), ANSI/AAMI (American National Standards Institute/Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), ORNAC (Operating Room Nurses Association of Canada), and ISO (International Organization for Standardization),

I been a member of the MDRANS association since 2000, and enjoyed my multiple role on the executive as Secretary, Vice President, the President and now as Past President

I live in Halifax with my husband of 44 years. I have 2 grown sons, 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter that keep me busy. I spend most of my time at our camp, enjoying time with my family.
