I began my career in health care at Dartmouth General Hospital as a utility worker in the housekeeping department in 1994. In 1995 I moved into the sterile processing department where I worked as a CSR aide. I completed my technician’s course from SAIT in 1998 and began working as a technician. In 2009 I completed a course in “Leadership Strategies for Healthcare Facilities” through Purdue University. In 2009 I moved to the Victoria General Hospital as the Technical Supervisor for the Sterile Processing Department. I am currently Technical Supervisor at the Halifax Infirmary Site.
I have been a member of the CSANS for approximately 20 years and have also been past secretary, treasurer and 2 consecutive terms as president. I have also taken the secretary position for CAMDR. I am looking forward to my new role as vice president and my continuing involvement with the association.
